AOL Search Engine - 28.9% of searches

We’ve got Google, Dmoz, Yahoo, Altavista, AOL and we’ll name others soon that are quite famous, reliable and guess ..

FREE to use. They don’t charge you a thing for indexing your link, because they know that’s the way to get bigger and better.

I’ve noticed in my searches that the sites asking for the link submition to be payed are very small and undeveloped. Guess why ?

In order to be seen as a good place to have the webmasters’ sites indexed they have to fight Google, Dmoz and the others. By asking for a price, they’ll get some money and that’s all.

Another problem: sites that ask for a link back. Get some air and be decent.

If I put on my site all the links to the directories that live because of my links, I'd fill my layouts with banners and links to all pittiful sites in the world.

So .. when I see someone asking for money or links, I just go to another place.

The entire idea of this article is not to put down the payed directories, not even those asking for links back.
